2026 Dodge Charger: A Return to Mopar Heritage

Dodge is doubling down on what its fans have always known and loved: gas-powered muscle. After the lukewarm reception of the all-electric Charger Daytona, Stellantis has reintroduced a purely gasoline-powered option for the 2026 Dodge Charger. Dubbed the Sixpack, the 2026 Charger brings back twin-turbocharged inline-six engines, offering enthusiasts a more familiar—and undeniably powerful—muscle car experience.
Two Flavors
The Sixpack will be available in two trims: the R/T with a Standard Output 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six producing 420 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque, and the Scat Pack with the High Output version cranking out 550 horsepower and 531 lb-ft. Both engines pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, a first for Dodge muscle cars, though a rear-wheel-drive mode can be activated for burnouts, drifting, and classic hooligan antics. Coupe and sedan variants are offered, with sedans priced $2,000 higher.
Pricing for the 2026 Sixpack starts at $51,990 for the R/T and $56,990 for the Scat Pack, while the electric Daytona Scat Pack remains $61,990. The staggered rollout begins with the Sixpack Scat Pack coupe in the second half of 2025, while other gas-powered variants will follow in the first half of 2026. Performance numbers for the Scat Pack are impressive: 0-60 mph in under four seconds, a quarter-mile in 12.2 seconds, and a top speed of 177 mph.
Standard features include line lock, launch control, and active exhaust modes, while Brembo brakes with 14.9-inch front rotors and six-piston calipers help rein in the power.
Different Looks than the EV Version
The styling of the Sixpack differs from the electric Daytona, with a traditional front end, new exhaust tips, and a standard gloss-black rear spoiler on the Scat Pack. The body maintains Dodge’s wide stance and rides on 20-inch wheels with 275/40ZR20 all-season tires. Inside, the Charger keeps the 12.3-inch touchscreen and 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, paddle shifters, and Nappa leather seats with ambient lighting.
A suite of safety and driver-assist technologies is standard, including adaptive cruise control, lane-centering steering, blind-spot monitoring, and traffic-sign recognition. Optional packages offer panoramic roofs, carbon-fiber trim, and upgraded interior features.
Ode to the Faithful
While the electric Daytona struggled to find its audience, the return of gas power may be just what the Charger faithful were waiting for. With more power, standard all-wheel drive, and modern tech features, the 2026 Dodge Charger Sixpack aims to keep the muscle car spirit alive while staying true to the legacy Dodge fans know and love.
